Mr Highmore-Phishing

Bank phishing attacks on the rise

Phishing is another form of hacking information. It is used to gain people information, in this case from the BBC i have looked up Bank Phishing. This is where people gain other people bank details over the internet, so they can access their account online (fraud). this is a common problem latly around with people stealing other people bank details and spending someone elses money. This article states that within the first 6 months of this year 21,000 account have been attacked by Phishing.

The way phishing is done to get bank information is that a bogus email is sent by the supposed "bank" and people have to send back some filled in form including all their bank information. This gives them access to their money. The banks say they own no responsiblity for this because they do not send the email, but they do warn not to open for any fraud email. BBC also states "However, reported losses to online banking fraud fell last year by 33% to £34m. "
