The uses Of SMS messaging

Three uses of SMS for a business:
-Send a message of illness -The use of sms is useful if you are ill for a meeting and you need to let someone know within a work place. SMS is good for this because it is a short message that can be sent instantly.
-Change of room/ or time- SMS is also useful if a venue gets changed and people are unaware. It allows them to be told the correct place and time.
-If your late- SMS can also be used to let someone know that you are running late and will miss some part of the meeting.
-Send contact cards -You can send your friend or collgues your contact information by sms. you can also recieve other people contact cards by sms.


Three uses of SMS for a Person:
-Social- somepeople you sms for a social communication. for example asking if they are okay? asking what they have done in that day? general information
-To arrange a meet - You can arrnage to meet someone somewhere. the use of sms allows you to arrange the where and when.
-If you’ve lost your voice- if you are stuggling to talk you can send short messages to other people.


The advantages of SMS:
-Can be done in silence- there is no sound needed to do this. This means you can do it anywhere because it makes no sound.
-Quicker than email. The sms messages are quicker to type and send than an email. If it was a matter of importance this is very useful
-Can be done anywhere- As long as you have signal you can send a sms to anyone at anytime because it does not relie on anything.
-Does not crash (more reliable)- sms do not seem to crash, unlike sending an email and the process crashing and starting all over again.
-Built in features - features like smilies can be used in sms.
- Inbox and outbox so you can see what you have sent- This is like seeing your history of the messages you have sent and recieved.

Disadvantages of SMS:
-Slower than a phone call - Even though sms is instant ringing a person would be quicker and it would mean that you could say more to the other person.
-Cost more to send over aboard
-Only 150 characters to one message- you can not write more than a 150 message because it would be seen as 2 sms and would cost you 2 sms text.
-Not always signal - somepeople do not always have signal depending on where they are, so they cannot always send a sms.
-Gives of radiation - Latly it has been reported that using a mobile phone alot can hurt your brain from the radiation.
-Makes message more confusing, People may not understand message.
