E-bay is the website that is used where people sell their belongings to another person to raise money. People who use it have an e-mail account with e-bay and they are then a user. From being a user they can sell anything as long as they have every intension on sending the product. To receive the money from customer they can either send the money on by post in a cheque or cash or they can pay by card usually by PayPal. From PayPal the money goes straight from the customer to the user. The user then posts the item to the billing address. Then after this the customer has to do an approval survey to prove that the product arrive and not been cheated out of money.

The target audience for e-bay could be anyone. This is because on the website the products/ toys are for any age. So in theory you could buy anything for any type of person on e-bay. However this doesn’t always work because to hold an account with eBay you must be 18 years of age. This is mainly to show that you are trust worthy. However there is a problem with this because if anyone was to change some figures on their date of birth they can have an account. Also the card information also does not contradict the person’s age so really anyone can have an account if they were to lie about their age.
The auction type of buying of a product is when you and other people bid money on how much you would pay for that particular product. You compete with other user on eBay and then by the stated ended line the person with the highest bid gets the product. Overall eBay fulfils the public’s need in the internet shopping because they can buy any product new or used at the same price or even cheaper.
The benefits of eBay would be that you could buy anything cheaper or at the same price. It also gets delivered to your billing address so you do not have to go outside your house. Another benefit is that they are hardly out of stock on everything because users, especially from the US or china, sell more than one of each product. However the limitation is that you have to trust the user that they are genuinely selling you that product. Fraud can also easier be committed especially if the customer does not use PayPal. The product might not be up the standards that you expected and you cannot send the item back.
