Direct Gov

The website for the uk government is directgov. this gives the information on services or informative iformation thata person needs to know.this can be local or national.

One service that could be found on direct gov is appliying for a licience with the dvla. this can be through the direct gov website. You can enter all the information such as address, phone number and the package of the service that you will need. You can register online or print off the application form and send it by post.

the benfits for this are that the application process is a lot quicker than doing it by post. You can also enter all the information straight into the application form. however a disadvantage of this is that you are giving all your information out and are at risk of identity theft. it also makes it easier for the government because it is already in a computer system so you can have it in a database. This because it easier for them to do their job.

The government also refers information to your local council. This webite refers you to your local information. the main link for new areas are the local school information such as free school meal, closeing and opening dates and general information. This website can be useful because it has the correct information and also the correct links for each area. In this age the uk government will save information by using the local links. they save money because it means they don't have to proccess or write or send the information by post.

On the direct government website you can see all types of rights and information. For people who do not know their rights this gives them access to see what they are allowed and not allowed to do. For example for maternity leave. There are certain guidelines that both employees and company have to uphold if they are planning on going on maternity leave. By using the internet to post the information it saves government money by not sending it or printing it. This saves them money and makes them enviromentally friendly.
